He also holds an M.A in School Psychology from USC (2018) and a B.A. in Psychology (summa cum laude; minor in English) from Newberry College (2015), where he also lettered in varsity baseball.

In late 2023, Alex transitioned to private practice to focus on providing more personalized, in-depth testing services to children, adolescents, and adults across Florida and Missouri. His practice focuses on evaluations for a wide range of needs, including identification of neuropsychiatric conditions (i.e., ADHD, learning differences, cognitive challenges), clarification of emotional and mood-related issues, and provision of individualized recommendations for mental health treatment and educational programming. Alex’s has a personal interest in working with older adolescents, college students, and high-achieving professionals seeking accommodations on college entry (ACT/SAT) and high-stakes exams (MCAT, LSAT, USMLE, state bar).

Before entering private practice, Alex founded and directed the psychological testing program at Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida in Fort Myers, Florida, from 2021-2023. He also held a clinical faculty position at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins Medicine, in 2021. Throughout his career, he has gained specialized experience in psychoeducational assessment, particularly for students with unique learning differences, and has a deep understanding of how data obtained throughout the psychological testing process can inform specific recommendations for educational programming and eligibility for accommodations on standardized exams. Alex is skilled in navigating the complex intersection of educational and disability law, federal policies, and testing requirements, and frequently collaborates with attorneys and legal experts on cases involving educational access, advocacy, and discrimination. His unique skillset ensures that he effectively advocates for his clients to receive the support they need to succeed in various academic settings.

Alex is also an Assistant Professor at Kansas City University (KCU) where he supervises doctoral-level psychologists-in-training. He is a member of KCU’s Center for Population Health & Equity (CPHE), focused on enhancing the mental and emotional well-being of public school students in inner Kansas City by ensuring their equitable access to high-quality school-based psychoeducational testing services.

Alex brings a wealth of experience in psychological and psychoeducational assessment, educational law, and child and adolescent mental health. He approaches all clients with warmth and compassion, and is holistic in his approach throughout the testing process. He is dedicated to supporting and addressing the psychological and educational needs of his clients.
